So obviously the internet is a super useful tool for finding new music. It\’s a super useful tool for finding new anything. But there are so many music discovery things out there between Pandora, iTunes Radio, and like 30 different features in Spotify alone. So what\’s your personal favorite way to find new tunes on the \’net? Is there one that\’s just the best?

Nielsen to start rating TV’s big waves on smallest screens

 

Nielsen, the company whose ratings are the standard for gauging how many and what kind of people are watching particular TV shows, has long struggled to count viewing that takes place off the television, even as video on mobile devices has proliferated.

Next week, Nielsen will detail its plans to integrate data about television viewing on tablets and smartphones into its ratings starting next year and will be rolling out its Twitter-related ratings in time for the fall TV

What Feature Would Make Your Favorite App Perfect?

It’s crazy to think about how much we use our preferred apps. We track runs, take notes, dip into our endless RSS streams, sort Tweets, or use Shazam to keep from embarrassing ourselves when we don’t recognize a song. Okay, that last one might just be me. Whatever. The point is that we’re intimately acquainted with these little software nuggets on our computers and smartphones and we know them inside and out.

Context Lets You Search Across Dropbox, Evernote, Spotify & More, All From Google.com

 

 

With Context, the extension intercepts Google search results, looking for specific triggers. In addition to the services listed above, Context can access Google Contacts, too. For example, you can enter in a friend’s name then the word “email,” or “number,” or “address,” to have this information immediately appear at the top of the Google.com’s search results. But digging into your address book is something Google can already do, which is why the integration with Dropbox, Evernote and other services is perhaps more interesting, and more practical.

WordPress Powers 18.9% of the Web, Has 46M Downloads

 

Article on The Next Web interviewing WordPress co-founder Matt Mullenweg.  Obvious the hold WordPress has on the web and that more and more people are using it (vs. Blogger, Tumblr, or platforms that used to be more popular) – new versions, powering 18.9% of the web, it’s impressive.  Not surprising, it is still a platform used primarily on the web.  I’m not sure how many are left that make that claim.  Article at TNW.
